A crazy idea around a campfire led to the acquisition of Windy Hill Outfitters. "Duck Camp" to us is more than killing ducks - Windy Hill is a place you can go to hang out with friends while taking a break from everyday life events. We can't bottle up the seasons of majestic sunrises, jokes cracked in the blinds, fried duck poppers by the campfire or seeing our children enjoying every second of a duck hunt, so we decided to invest in Windy Hill Outfitters for all to experience what "Duck Camp" means to us. During your visit at Windy Hill, expect to see one, if not both of our owners there ensuring that our views of "Duck Camp" are extended to you. We look forward to meeting you as a guest and you leaving as part of our duck family.

Michael was born and raised in Southeast Alabama, but quickly adapted to the "Army Brat" life as he moved to all corners of the country while his father served in the Army Special Forces. Immediately after graduation from high school, Michael followed in his father's footsteps and joined the Army. While serving on his third deployment to Iraq, he was wounded in combat on two separate occasions which ultimately led to an early retirement. In between deployments, he found a passion for waterfowl hunting. Once Michael retired from the military, he took up learning and later mastering duck hunting in Northeast Arkansas. Michael has spent the last nine seasons hunting exclusively in Arkansas. He has worked as a guide for the past three years, one of which he solely guided combat wounded Veterans. Michael is a loving husband to Jeanette and father to two sons, all of which share the same love of waterfowl hunting. Hunting with kids and first-time hunters is nothing new for him. In the offseason, he owns and operates Windy Hill Retrievers training high-quality retrievers for both hunting and competition.

Born in Indiana, Zane has traveled all over while growing up as an army brat. He has an extensive hunting resume spanning across Wisconsin, Indiana, Kansas, Arkansas, and Alabama. After hunting for many years, he decided to take a chance on his sidekick, a Golden Retriever named Dixon. Zane has grown to love the dog handling aspect of hunting as well as watching others experience a successful hunt. Zane resides in Huntsville, Alabama during the off-season where he enjoys spending time with his family, friends and, of course, Dixon. During season, he looks forward to making your experience chasing waterfowl at Windy Hill unforgettable.
Shawn is no stranger to ducks, dogs and Arkansas. With over twenty years as a professional dog trainer, he is the owner of Waterfowl Widowmakers. In addition to training, he is an avid hunter and has hunted/ guided in Arkansas for over fifteen years. Waterfowl Widowmakers keeps him extremely busy as he travels across the country participating in field trials and derbies, so we at Windy Hill Outfitters are fortunate to have Shawn join us as a guide for a little "down time" in his off season.
